For casual sessional staff members, you are paid at a standard rate per hour for tutorial work you are expected to engage in (e.g., tutorial preparation, delivery, marking, office hours, lecture attendance, lab demonstration, etc.). Both you and the course coordinator should have a clear understanding of how many hours you’re expected to work as a tutor and what you’re expected to do in this time. No one knowingly wants to place unreasonable expectations on you or make you do more work than you are being paid for.
